Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Slow Ink (“Slow Ink”, “we”, or “the service”), operated by the developer identified as the seller on its App Store listing, collects, uses, retains, and shares information in the Slow Ink apps, Apple Watch and widget surfaces, and slowink.app.

Information we collect

Account and sign-in information

If you choose Apple or Google sign-in, we receive the provider, a provider-specific account identifier, and an email address when the provider makes one available. Apple may provide a private relay address. We do not receive your password.

Installation and security information

We create a random installation identifier and process session identifiers, request signatures, timestamps, integrity or device-attestation results, IP address, and security logs. These protect the service, prevent replay and abuse, associate an installation with an account, and preserve access.

Content and account activity

We process saved passages, reading preferences, membership status, and daily oracle results. An oracle request includes its content language and seasonal context. We do not send free-form search text to analytics. Search requests are used to return results and are not stored in the analytics event table.

First-party product analytics

When you use the app, we collect basic event names and limited event properties, app version, operating system and version, device model and brand, and a device identifier (IDFV on Apple platforms or Android ID on Android). This helps us understand events such as sign-in, feature use, and page visits. We do not collect IMEI, IDFA, advertising IDs, search text, keystrokes, screen recordings, or touch replay. Analytics is operated on our own service and is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Purchases

Apple or Google processes payment details. We receive product, transaction or purchase-token, subscription status, expiration, refund, and revocation information needed to provide and restore membership. We never receive full payment-card details.

Website data

Cloudflare may process IP address, country code, request headers, timing, and security logs to deliver and protect the website. The site stores only your language choice in local storage. It does not use advertising cookies or page-replay analytics.

Why we use information

• Provide readings, library, search, favorites, oracle, widgets, Watch features, sign-in, and membership.
• Improve reliability and understand feature use.
• Secure the service, limit automated extraction, and investigate abuse or failures.
• Process account deletion, support requests, and legal obligations.

Service providers and sharing

We do not sell personal information and do not share it for behavioral advertising. Necessary processors may include Cloudflare (hosting, storage, delivery, and security), Apple and Google (identity, distribution, notifications, and purchases), and DeepSeek (generation of oracle interpretations). Oracle prompts are limited to a curated hexagram, date or season, and content language; we do not include account email, device identifiers, search text, or authentication credentials. Providers process data under their own terms and our operational instructions where applicable. We may disclose information when legally required or to protect users and the service.

Data linking and tracking

Installation, analytics, favorites, oracle, and subscription records may be linked to your Slow Ink account after sign-in. We do not combine this data with third-party advertising data, sell it to data brokers, or track you across other companies’ apps or websites. We do not request Apple App Tracking Transparency permission because Slow Ink does not perform tracking as Apple defines it.

Retention

Analytics event detail is kept for up to 180 days. Secure sessions and one-time nonces expire automatically. Account, favorite, oracle, and subscription records remain while your account or access is active, unless you delete the account. Security, fraud-prevention, transaction, or legal records may be retained longer only where reasonably necessary or required by law.

Your choices and deletion

You can change notification permission in system settings. Signed-in users can permanently delete their account from Settings → Account management → Delete account. You can also use our account deletion page if the app is unavailable. Account deletion removes sign-in identities, favorites, oracle history, linked installations, server-side membership links, and analytics records, subject to limited legal or fraud-prevention retention. Deleting Slow Ink does not automatically cancel an Apple or Google subscription; cancel it in the relevant store.

Security and international processing

App traffic uses TLS plus signed requests and encrypted response payloads. Data may be processed outside your country through global infrastructure. We apply safeguards appropriate to the data and service, but no system can guarantee absolute security.

Children

Slow Ink is not directed to children under 13 or the higher minimum digital-consent age required where they live. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information.

Your legal rights

Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, portability, restriction, objection, or deletion, and may withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Contact us to exercise these rights or appeal a response.
