《韓非子·說難》

事以密成語以泄敗

Affairs succeed through discretion; words fail through disclosure.

事情常因保密而成，言談常因洩漏而敗。

事は慎重さによって成り、言葉は漏れることで敗れる。

Not every developing matter benefits from immediate exposure. The line is less a praise of secrecy than a warning about timing: speech can release forces before plans are ready to bear them.

仍在形成中的事情，未必適合立刻公開。此句不只是讚美隱密，更是在提醒言說的時機：計畫尚未能承受外力時，過早說出便可能使它失去完成的條件。

形成途中の計画には、公開すべき時があります。話すことが準備より先に進む危うさへの注意です。

《韓非子·顯學》

宰相必起於州部猛將必發於卒伍

A chancellor should rise from local offices; a great general should emerge from the ranks.

宰相應從地方官職歷練而起，名將應從士卒行伍之中成長。

宰相は地方の役所から起こり、猛将は兵卒の中から現れるべきである。

Authority gains substance through contact with the work it governs. Experience at lower levels reveals consequences and constraints that titles alone cannot teach.

權力若曾接觸它所管理的實際工作，才較有分量。基層經驗讓人看見決策的後果與限制，這些並不是僅憑名位就能學會的。

権限を持つ前に現場を知ることが、肩書だけでは得られない判断を育てます。

《韓非子·喻老》

千丈之堤以螻蟻之穴潰

A thousand-zhang dike may collapse through the hole of an ant.

千丈長堤，也可能因螻蟻的小穴而潰決。

千丈の堤も、蟻の穴から崩れることがある。

Scale does not make a system immune to neglected details. Small faults become dangerous when they are allowed time, pressure, and repetition; attention is cheapest before damage announces itself.

規模宏大並不表示可以忽略細節。小缺口若長久承受壓力、反覆擴大，終會成為真正的危險；在損害尚未顯眼之前留心，代價最低。

大きな仕組みほど小さな欠陥を軽視できません。損害が見える前の注意が最も少ない代価で済みます。

巧詐不如拙誠

Clever deception is not as good as plain sincerity.

巧妙的欺詐，不如樸拙的真誠。

巧みな偽りは、不器用な誠実さに及ばない。

Skill can win a moment while undermining the ground needed for the next one. Unpolished honesty may appear less impressive, yet it preserves the trust on which durable cooperation depends.

技巧或許能贏得一時，卻可能破壞下一步所需的基礎。未經修飾的誠實看似不夠漂亮，卻保存了長久合作最需要的信任。

技巧は一時を勝てても、次の協力に必要な信頼を失うことがあります。
